Objective
Create Scene&Prop items by using CLO and Marvelous Designer software.
Required & Recommended
Below are the requirements and recommendations when modeling a Prop.
[Required]
- "Prop" refers to any prop mesh that goes into the Scene/Stage.
- The file should not include anything other than Prop meshes. (e.g. Select Prop Mesh only when exporting)
- The mesh’s normal direction must be facing outwards.
-
In the Description, the following information about the product must be provided.
(1) UV MAP unwrapping status O or X
[Recommended]
- It is recommended to apply the same material to the part using the same material.
- UVs should be unwrapped so that they do not overlap so that customers can use a variety of textures.
- If mesh and the normal map have the same location and direction, it may cause overlapping and flickering issues during rendering. Be careful not to overlap the mesh.
- If the two vertices are overlapping, please weld them together.
- For the complex graphic pattern, please use the Normal map. (e.g., logo and pattern)
- It is recommended to use textures with a maximum size of 2048 pixels.
- The scanned OBJ is compatible, but the mesh should be re-meshed and editable.
- It is recommended to add a wire to express the sharp edge.
Details
1. Converting ZSE format in CLO software: Only CLO-formatted files can be uploaded to CONNECT.
In Scene&Prop, the term 'Prop' refers to backgrounds and props, while 'Scene' encompasses the whole setup, including Props, Light settings, and Custom Views.
All props are saved as ZSE format in CLO software.
※ To save as ZSE format, you need to have OBJ files. If you have a different format other than OBJ, export as an OBJ format file from other 3D MODELING software.
1-1. Open CLO
1-2. Import OBJ as Scene&Prop TYPE
From the main menu, click FILE ▶ IMPORT ▶ OBJ ▶ Select a file and click OPEN
▶Object Type ▶ Scene&Prop Scale ▶ After setting the value as when you work with different tools, then click OK
2. How to modify Scene&Prop format
2-1. Modify the materials of Prop
Select the IMPORTED PROP file, and then you can change the material and properties of PROP in the Property Editor.
- In the Material(Selected) section, you can load a texture or choose the material of TRIM (e.g., Metal, Plastic, Gem)
2-2. Rotate PROP so that it can be well-seen from the front. If you press the number 2 on the keyboard in CLO, you can see the front view.
When viewed from the front, if the PROP is lying down, rotate it so you can see it well.
※ Note : To easily rotate the PROP, right-click in the 3D viewer background ▶ Gizmo ▶ Select Local Coordinate.
Press the number 4 or 6 on the keyboard to see the front side, click PROP and hold down the SHIFT and rotate vertically.
3. Save as Scene&Prop
When saving in Scene&Prop format, the file name should be written the same as the product name registered on CONNECT.
Ensuring the Prop is clearly visible from the front view in CLO and then saving it will guarantee good visibility in the viewer when the file is uploaded later.
From the main menu, click FILE ▶ SAVE AS ▶ Scene&Prop
Select Auto or Custom thumbnail when saving.
Select the location to save, and enter the product name to sell, and click SAVE.
※ When saving in Scene&Prop format, note that the set Light, Render, Custom View settings are also saved along with the file.
4. CONNECT UPLOAD Entering Asset Description
When uploading the PROP to CONNECT, please provide detailed information about the asset for the convenience of customers.
If detailed information is missing, asset registration may be rejected during the item approval process.
1. UPLOAD (Mandatory)
Confirm the uploaded asset name and format and replace the file by pressing the REUPLOAD button if necessary.
2. TITLE (Mandatory)
Please enter the asset name that will be displayed on CONNECT.
By default, the uploaded asset's name will be set automatically as the DEFAULT TITLE.
3. DESCRIPTION
If you are selling a physical product, please provide the sales page URL in the description.
Please provide the PROP information.
- UV MAP unwrapping status O or X
4. TAGS
'TAGS' is a target keyword that helps customers search and amplify your content's reach. Entering the type of assets for sale will help customers when searching for the items.
5. ATTACHMENT
You can attach files relating to the SCENE. However, it is impossible to track attachment files attached to 'ATTACHMENT' are being used.
6. ADD SUB-IMAGES
You can additionally add images that highlight the characteristics of the PROP.
7. THUMBNAIL
Register an image that well showcases the characteristics of the PROP.
If you applied a material that is visible only in the render, please register the rendered image.
Registering the images where items are not visible or images unrelated to the item may lead to rejection during the item approval process.
