Objective
Properly importing the avatar templates into Blender or exporting the posed or animated avatar file to CLO or Marvelous Designer 2024.2.
How to set the scene properties for an Avatar Template.

1-1. Unit Scale
Before importing the CLO or custom avatar, set the Unit Scale in Blender to '0.01' to adjust the scene unit to Centimeters (cm).
- Scene > Units > Unit Scale > value: 0.01
1-2. Frame Rate
After the CLO or custom avatar is imported, please set the Frame rate to 30 fps.
- Output > Format > Frame Rate > 30 fps
Animation - Armature's Transform Setting
To avoid compatibility issues in CLO or Marvelous Designer, please make sure to keep the origin transform value of 'Armature' intact while posing or animating in Blender.
※ Note: If you change the origin transform value of 'Armature,' your generated pose or motion file will have compatibility issues with the avatar templates.
How to bake animation to Keyframes in Blender
Please follow the steps below to bake the animation to keyframes in Blender.
※ Note: Assuming that the animation is already done.
- From the main menu, click the 'Animation' workspace to switch the layout.
- Press ' a ' to select all joints.
- From the menu, click the 'Key'> Bake Keyframes (hotkey: Shift + Alt + O)
How to Export an avatar with baked keyframes.
Please make sure that the following settings are applied to export the FBX file with baked keyframes.
FBX Export Options:

- Scale: 1.00
- Apply Scalings: All Local
- Forward: -Z Forward
- Up: Y-Up
- Apply Unit: Checked
- Use Space Transform: Checked
- 'Armature' Tab
- Add Leaf Bones: Unchecked
- 'Bake Animation' Tab
- Simplify: 0.0
- 'Transform' Tab
